I wonder why people wish each other gong xi fa cai (as in congratulations! you won a fortune!)
All I know I've been saying it since I know how to speak. mummy or daddy or some elderly will ask me to wish everyone like that... so....
SIN NIAN QUAI LER!!!
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!
As usual, first day would be spent visiting relatives... so does 2nd day...
and im flying off on the 3rd night... :(
cousin, great grand aunt and daddy
we call her "6th sook po thai" its my dad's 6th uncle's wife... thus the long calling "look(6th) sook po thai"
she 83 this year and starting to lose her memories...
we go to her house every year, ever since i could remember, and we will be greated by her great yummy delicacies..
our childhood favourite would of course be her red agar agar (jello) and her home-fried keropok (shrimp crackers)...
this few years, she's too old to make agar-agar herself, so her maid helped her... which is why this year's its white, and a lil tasteless too ... :-/
next, every year, we will also go to another grand aunt house, pic not available..
when RM 1 coin was still available and RM2 note isnt created yet, she used to give us RM 1.20 angpau.
I have no idea why..
She just have too much believes.. like fencing her god statues on the altar (few years back) but this year she had removed it.
She also burn too much insence every year, making her walls and floor dark and... dirty..
then, we will return home...
by night after dinner, me and siblings played some fireworks... trying to compete with other neighbours... hehehe...
that's our competitor... ok... we lost...
oh well, thats all for 1st day... night... ;)
